GPU Computing and Magnetar Instabilities

I will first discuss the application of GPU computing to general relativistic magnetohydrodynamics as implemented in the new HORIZON code employed at the University of Tuebingen. Since the code is primarily designed to study the dynamics of compact relativistic stars, I will give some examples of magnetic field instabilities in magnetars, and gravitational wave radiation we can expect from these sources.
