Jena can be reached by car and by train. A train ride from Jena to the
international airport Frankfurt (FRA) takes about 3:30 hours.
To Berlin it is about 2:30 hours and to Munich 3:30 hours by train.

The workshop will be held in the 'Rosensäle' (Fürstengraben 27), which belong to the university. You can find them on this map of Jena's city centre (label 109) just north of the tower (label M9). The conference dinner will be on top of the tower.
