Post-Newtonian methods give many key insights into Einstein's theory of General Relativity. The workshop will focus on

  • PN for Gravitational Wave Astronomy

  • PN Meets Numerical Relativity

This workshop is dedicated to Gerhard Schäfer's 60th birthday.

Location / Travel

The workshop will be held at the University of Jena, Germany. Jena is a town in Thuringia on the river Saale. Visit this page to get information about accommodation.

Jena can be reached by car and by train. A train ride from Jena to the international airport Frankfurt (FRA) takes about 3:30 hours. To Berlin it is about 2:30 hours and to Munich 3:30 hours by train. Some smaller airports are within a one hour drive. Please visit the page for travel information.

The workshop will be held in the 'Rosensäle' (Fürstengraben 27), which belong to the university. You can find them on this map of Jena's city centre (label 109) just north of the tower (label M9). The conference dinner will be on top of the tower.
